Africell Sierra Leone sponsored more than 165 events across the country between January and June 2026, reaffirming its position as one of Sierra Leone’s leading corporate partners in education, entertainment, youth empowerment, sports, religion, health, and community development. For many Sierra Leoneans, Africell is not only the company that provides mobile connectivity, but also the brand that has become a familiar presence in classrooms, football fields, concert grounds, religious gatherings, health campaigns, and national events. That presence, according to Senior Manager of Events and Sponsorship Nancy Lucia Joseph Turay, has been built through nearly two decades of consistent community investment.
According to Madam Nancy, education, entertainment, and youth empowerment accounted for the largest share of sponsored events during the first half of the year. She explained that Africell deliberately prioritizes these sectors because they play a critical role in shaping the future of young people and creating opportunities for national growth.
“Our focus is not just on connecting people through technology, but also on connecting them with opportunities that transform lives. By investing in education, entertainment, and youth empowerment, we are contributing to the development of the next generation of Sierra Leoneans,” she said.

The Africell sponsorship manager stressed that the company’s objective goes beyond brand visibility. She said Africell sees sponsorship as a way of giving back to the people who have supported the company since its establishment in Sierra Leone. By maintaining partnerships with schools, artists, youth organizations, sports institutions, religious bodies, and government initiatives, the company aims to contribute to social cohesion, talent development, and national progress.
Madam Nancy further revealed that Africell has consistently sponsored major events across Sierra Leone since 2006, making community investment a central part of the company’s corporate philosophy. She explained that the company’s sponsorship portfolio is carefully structured to ensure broad national impact, covering education, entertainment, empowerment, health, government, religion, and sports.
She noted that this diversified approach enables Africell to support initiatives that touch different segments of society while strengthening partnerships with institutions, communities, and development stakeholders across the country.
Beyond providing telecommunications services, Madam Nnacy said Africell SL views sponsorship as an investment in people and national progress. She emphasized that every partnership is guided by the company’s desire to create meaningful social impact, inspire innovation, promote talent, and support initiatives that improve the lives of Sierra Leoneans.

With more than 165 sponsored events recorded in just six months, Africell Sierra Leone continues to demonstrate that its contribution extends well beyond mobile connectivity. Through sustained investments in education, youth development, entertainment, religion, sports, health, and community initiatives, the company is helping create opportunities, empower communities, and contribute to Sierra Leone’s social and economic development.
