In a significant boost to healthcare delivery in Freetown, Africa Global Logistics (AGL) has donated vital medical equipment, including a microscope, chairs, and other supplies, to the Ross Road Hospital in Cline Town on October 1, 2025.
The donation ceremony brought together AGL executives, Ross Road Hospital staff, and community stakeholders, underscoring the company’s commitment to strengthening the health sector and improving services for residents of the Ross Road community.
Delivering the welcome address, Rose Patricia Steven, Senior Community Health Officer at Ross Road Hospital, described the donation as “a transformative force” for the hospital and its patients. She noted that the new equipment—particularly the microscope—would significantly improve laboratory operations, enabling more accurate diagnoses and better medical outcomes. She applauded AGL for its bold support, stressing that the donation came at a crucial time when many hospital instruments had become dysfunctional.
Regional Manager of AGL, Captain Fabjanko Kokan, commended the dedication of the hospital staff, urging the community to fully utilize the enhanced services now available. “This medical equipment is not just metal and plastic,” Capt. Kokan said. “It represents faster diagnostics, more effective treatment, and ultimately, the saving of lives. It is a symbol of our commitment to healthcare and the well-being of the community.”
Mrs. Yvonne Elliott, AGL’s Human Resource Manager, also praised the relentless effort of the hospital staff, assuring them that AGL is prepared to extend further support to ensure sustained improvements in service delivery.
The event closed with a vote of thanks from both Mrs. Elliott and Ms. Steven, who reiterated the theme of the day: “Solidarity — Health is Wealth.”
