
SLMA and Saudi Arabia Discuss Bilateral Maritime Partnership in London
The Sierra Leone Maritime Administration (SLMA) is pleased to announce a productive and forward-looking engagement between its Executive Director, Dr. Daniel Kaitibi, and Eng. Kamal Mohammed Al-Junaidi, the Alternate Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the International Maritime Organization (IMO).
This high-level bilateral meeting took place on the sidelines of the 110th Session of the IMO Maritime Safety Committee, held at the IMO Headquarters in London, United Kingdom.
The purpose of the meeting was to establish a collaborative and strategic working relationship between the maritime institutions of the Republic of Sierra Leone and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Both parties explored avenues for mutual cooperation in areas such as:
• Maritime safety and security
• Capacity building and training
• Technical support and regulatory alignment
• Sustainable maritime development
Dr. Kaitibi emphasized SLMA’s commitment to fostering international partnerships that align with Sierra Leone’s maritime growth agenda and the goals of the IMO instruments.
