MYSTERY, FEAR AND DEATH HAUNT FAMILY OF SLAIN KONO DIAMOND DEALER
One Family… Multiple Tragedies… No Answers

A chilling cloud of mystery, fear and tragedy continues to hover over a family once deeply connected to Sierra Leone’s lucrative diamond trade, following a disturbing chain of deaths and disappearances that has nearly wiped out an entire household.
At the center of the unfolding nightmare is Emmah Bangura, a young woman now reportedly living in hiding after losing almost every member of her immediate family under deeply troubling and unresolved circumstances.
The tragedy reportedly began in Kono District, where Emmah’s father, Kallon Bangura — a well-known diamond dealer — allegedly died mysteriously following a business dispute involving his Fulah business associates.
According to family sources, Kallon Bangura left home for work one morning in good health and with no signs of illness. Hours later, however, news emerged that he had suddenly died under circumstances that remain unclear.
To this day, the exact cause of his death has not been publicly established, and there has been no known official explanation or publicly disclosed investigative findings surrounding the incident.
Fearing her children could also become targets because of their father’s business connections, Emmah’s mother, Mamusu Kamara, reportedly fled Kono with Emmah and her only son, Smith Bangura, seeking safety and anonymity in Freetown.
But the family’s nightmare was far from over.
On June 8, 2025, tragedy struck again when Smith Bangura was reportedly found dead in front of the very house where the family had sought refuge in the capital. The circumstances surrounding his death remain shrouded in mystery, with no arrests or official breakthroughs reported.
As the family struggled to recover from yet another devastating loss, their mother, Mamusu Kamara, suddenly vanished without a trace.
Since her disappearance, relatives say no one has heard from her, and her whereabouts remain completely unknown.
Now left isolated and terrified, Emmah Bangura has reportedly gone into hiding out of fear for her own safety. As of the time of this report, her location remains undisclosed.
The disturbing pattern of deaths and disappearances surrounding the Bangura family has raised serious public concern and intensified questions over whether the incidents are connected.
Many are now asking whether justice will ever be served and whether those behind the mysterious tragedies will ever be identified.
For now, the Bangura family’s ordeal stands as a haunting reminder of the dark dangers that can lurk behind high-stakes business dealings — and the devastating human cost when fear, silence and unanswered questions prevail.
