VP JALLOH ELEVATES SIERRA LEONE’S GLOBAL PROFILE
By Ibrahim Alusine Kamara (Kamalo)
Vice President Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh has continued to reinforce Sierra Leone’s international standing through a series of high-level engagements with the Sierra Leonean diaspora, global investors and development partners, projecting the country’s reform agenda while encouraging greater diaspora participation in national development.
During his recent engagements in London, France and Germany, the Vice President positioned Sierra Leone as a stable, reform-oriented and investment-ready destination, emphasizing that the country’s development ambitions can only be fully realized through strong partnerships between government, the private sector and Sierra Leoneans living abroad.
Addressing Sierra Leoneans in the United Kingdom at a diaspora town hall and later delivering the keynote address at the Fourth Sierra Leone Diaspora Investment Conference, Dr. Juldeh Jalloh described the diaspora as one of the nation’s greatest strategic assets. He encouraged Sierra Leoneans overseas to move beyond remittances by investing in agriculture, tourism, manufacturing, technology, infrastructure and other productive sectors capable of creating jobs and accelerating economic growth.
The Vice President also highlighted key reforms undertaken by the Government of Sierra Leone, including improvements in governance, energy, agriculture, human capital development and the investment climate. He assured members of the diaspora that government remains committed to creating an enabling environment that protects investments while expanding economic opportunities for all Sierra Leoneans.
His engagements provided an opportunity for Sierra Leoneans abroad to interact directly with senior government officials, ask questions on national issues and explore practical ways of contributing their expertise, resources and international networks to the country’s development agenda. The discussions reflected government’s growing commitment to maintaining meaningful dialogue with citizens overseas and incorporating their contributions into national planning.
Beyond the United Kingdom, Dr. Juldeh Jalloh represented Sierra Leone at the Hamburg Sustainability Conference in Germany, where he joined world leaders, policymakers and development partners in discussions on global economic resilience, nutrition, sustainable development and international cooperation. During the conference, he advocated for stronger support for vulnerable economies and called for more flexible financing mechanisms to help developing countries withstand global shocks.
He also showcased Sierra Leone’s progress in prioritizing maternal and child nutrition, reaffirming the government’s commitment to investing in human capital as a foundation for long-term national development. His interventions highlighted Sierra Leone’s willingness to contribute constructively to global policy discussions while sharing lessons from its own reform journey.
Observers say the Vice President’s recent international engagements have further enhanced Sierra Leone’s diplomatic visibility, strengthened confidence among diaspora investors and reaffirmed government’s determination to build stronger international partnerships that support sustainable economic transformation.
As Sierra Leone continues to pursue its national development priorities, Vice President Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh’s consistent engagement with the diaspora and the international community reflects a leadership approach that seeks to translate global partnerships into tangible opportunities for investment, job creation and inclusive national growth.
