At the National Spelling Bee Competition Orientation held on 4th April 2026, the atmosphere was filled with excitement as pupils, educators, and stakeholders gathered in anticipation of a journey rooted in learning and discovery.Representing United Bank for Africa (UBA) Sierra Leone was Augustine Martin, the bank’s External and Media Relations Officer, whose presence underscored the institution’s strong partnership with the initiative. Taking the podium, Augustine delivered a brief but compelling statement that resonated with both young participants and dignitaries alike.In his address, he emphasized that UBA Sierra Leone remains deeply committed to supporting educational initiatives that nurture literacy, critical thinking, and confidence among young people. He reaffirmed that through the UBA Foundation, the bank continues to champion programs that empower students to discover and develop their talents.He further highlighted the ongoing UBA Foundation 5th National Essay Competition, encouraging pupils to take advantage of platforms that sharpen their creativity and critical thinking.
